WOMEN'S HEALTH DAY

1536599534826.png

To these women - health care is not even a necessity, but a luxury.

The majority of people in under-privileged areas like Haiti have no access to medical care. This means that women are also unable to receive access and education surrounding feminine hygiene and products.

HEALTH DAYS'S AT ISSC SCHOOL

The Vibrate Higher Foundation wants to host two women’s health day’s at The ISSC School in Cap Haitian for their high school students and members of the community.

HEALTH DAY #1 - OBGYN VISIT

  • Give attendees access to two US OBGYN's (who will travel to Haiti for one week and donate their time)

    • These OBYN's can not only offer appointments and physical consultations, but also education, supplies and support

HEALTH DAY #2 - CLASS & CYCLE EDUCATION

  • Educate women about their cycle, their flow, and contraception options

  • Each woman will receive sanitary products for 2 months, vitamins, and contraception

Funds raised will go towards:

  • U.S. OBGYN travel to Haiti

YOGA & MINDFULNESS FOR ALL

Yoga and mindfulness know no boundary. For each person these techniques are able to touch - the benefits are limitless.

One of the biggest parts of our mission is to bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to the most underprivileged communities, starting with Haiti.

As part of this Yoga & Mindfulness For All campaign, The Vibrate Higher Foundation is raising money to set up community yoga centers in Haiti and empower and educate local individuals who will receive their Yoga Teacher Training.

Through partnerships with local organizations we will train and mentor local individuals who may be interested in wellness, meditation and yoga - to help serve their communities.

The individuals trained will teach 1-2 classes weekly at schools and community centers to continue spreading yoga and mindfulness.

CAMPAIGN GOALS

  1. The pilot program will start in Cap Haitian and by the end of 2019 we will expand to 6 more community yoga centers in Jacmel, Port au Prince, Gonaives, Jeremie, Les Cayes and Trou Du Nord.

  2. Each center will have 8-10 locally trained yoga teachers leading classes in their community.

DONATIONS GO TOWARDS

  • Travel for US Yoga Teachers to Haiti to train local persons.

  • Subsidized Tuition and Certifications for each Haitian individual who will complete an online Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher Training Program.

  • Supplies such as yoga mats, straps, blocks etc. to set up the community yoga centers.

CLEAN WATER, CLEAR FUTURE

Something that is so easy to take for granted is turning on the faucet in any room in our home - and not only being able to have clean water come out of it, but to be able to have drinking quality water come out of it.

clean water.jpg

Like many countries and areas - Haiti is not nearly as fortunate. Clean water and plastic consumption is a huge issue and growing crisis throughout the nation. Most of the country's water is not potable so families rely on either making a trek to get clean mountain water or if they can afford it - purchasing bottled water which in turn increases their plastic consumption.

To combat this water crisis - in Spring 2019 we will be working to build a water filtration system at ISCCH School in Cap Haitian.

The water will be able to serve over 3,000 Kids + 10,000 more people inclusive of their extended families in the local community.

We would like to install the water filtration system for 2 reasons. First, to provide clean water that the kids can drink with a reusable water bottle, and second, to teach the kids, future generation and current generations about ways to reduce and eliminate plastic consumption.

FUNDRAISING GOAL: $5,000

BE THE LIGHT

IMG_3140.jpg

Light not only helps us to SEE - but it helps us to learn, connect, grow and thrive.

Sadly 63% of Haitians are without access to electricity still TODAY. For these families, having electricity means more than just “light”-  it means increased studying time for a growing child, it means a safe walk home amidst a world of darkness, it means that health and medical professionals can do what they do best- regardless of the time of day.

Safety also plays a huge role in the absence of electricity. Of the 1.1 billion people living without electricity, most rely on dangerous, toxic, and expensive kerosene as their primary source of light.

Did you know that more women are severely burned by kerosene-related accidents each year than are diagnosed with HIV and TB combined? Or that exposure to smoke from kerosene kills nearly 2 million people annually? Access to solar lighting not only lights people's worlds, but it helps to save lives.

With the “Be The Light” Campaign we will be donating solar powered lights to these families in need .

These donations will go SO far!

TOTAL FUNDRAISING GOAL: $20,000

Donation Levels:

  • $15 - provides one light to a family in need

  • $100 - provides 3 lights to families in need

  • $500 - provides 33 lights to an ENTIRE class! Helping children to do their homework

  • Or donate in any monetary value - $20, $50, $100, $500, $1000 and more
